Hi, I'm Amreeta.

I am a postdoctoral researcher and SUNY PRODiG+ Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at the University at Albany, SUNY, where I also teach ICSI 407: Human-Computer Interaction. I completed my PhD in Computer Science at Oregon State University in 2024, advised by Dr. Anita Sarma.

My research sits at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, Software Engineering, and Computer Science Education. I study how people with diverse cognitive problem-solving styles learn software engineering and interact with software systems, and I design interventions — in classrooms, courseware, and open-source communities — that make technology more inclusive across these differences.

I'm broadly interested in how educators, researchers, and designers can better support learners and contributors across cognitive spectra, with particular attention to gender-inclusive design in CS education and open-source software.
